Cosmetic Notifications

All cosmetic products sold in Canada must be notified to Health Canada within 10 days of being first sold.

While cosmetics do not require the same level of pre-market approval as Natural Health Products, they must still comply with the Cosmetic Regulations and the Food and Drugs Act. This includes ensuring that ingredients are safe and that the product is correctly labelled.

Is your product a cosmetic or a Natural Health Product (NHP)? The line can be thin, especially for products like sunscreens, acne treatments, or medicated shampoos. We conduct thorough assessments based on:

  • 03Product Format
